29-31st OCT Cooking well for Teens - 3 Day Course

£325.00

Is your child interested in cooking and wanting to learn more than just white pasta and nutrient lacking fast food? The future of cooking is up to us to pass on - this is something I am passionate about.

There is so much wisdom in food and so many wonderful and easy ways to feed ourselves in a fast and inexpensive manor with out having to reach for nutrient lacking ingredients.

This course is focused on a more wholeistic way of being in the kitchen, showing them how to become comfortable and more intuitive in the kitchen. Providing the fundamentals for being a confident cook. Focusing on things like knife skills, how to cook with grains and pulses, make boosted breakfasts and most importantly have delicious food that will support them.

This course is set in a calm and creative environment with a group size of just 5.

The day starts at 10 and finishes as 4 with time for a lunch made together.

The course runs for 3 days.

Ages from 16 up (ideally with some knowledge in the kitchen)

Some of the areas we will be covering -

Knife skills

Delicious breakfasts (that aren’t overwhelming but can support them until lunch)

We touch on gut health and basic nutrition and how to make up a balanced plate of food.

Cooking a roast chicken and using the bones for stock and meat through out the week

Soups and quick soda bread

How to cook with grains

How to cook with pulses

Making food go further

Plus general kitchen hygiene etiquette

Please note that a deposit of £100 will be taken once booked onto the course that is non refundable. This is not a residential course and children would be expected to be collected at 4pm every day and ready to start for 10am.

I always ensure I use the best possible produce and products, most things are organic (as this is the way I like to cook) and if not organic as good as I can find.

PLEASE NOTE - this course takes place in my home. I have a cat and dog (neither of which will be in the kitchen) however please be aware of your own health if you have any allergies or problems

If you have any dietary requirements or allergies please make me aware of them
